Denver Airport & Ski Shuttles
You can skip the rental car on a lot of Colorado trips. Shared and private shuttles run from Denver International Airport to the major ski towns, and the driver deals with the snow on I-70.
- Shared shuttle
- Seat in a van, set departures
- Private transfer
- Your group only, door to door
- DEN → Summit County
- About 2–2.5 hours
- Best for

Your options from DEN
- Shared shuttle vans run on a schedule from DEN to Summit County (Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper), Vail and Beaver Creek. Established operators include Epic Mountain Express and Groome Transportation; check each company's current routes.
- Private transfers (SUV or Sprinter van) are priced per vehicle and can be good value for families and groups with ski gear.
- Public and intercity buses: CDOT's Bustang runs along I-70 from Denver, and Pinnacle Bustang serves some ski areas. Cheapest, but less convenient with luggage.
- Aspen: many visitors fly into Aspen (ASE) or Eagle/Vail (EGE) instead; by road from DEN it's a long day.

Shuttle or rental car?
Choose a shuttle if you're staying in one ski town with free local buses and you don't want to drive I-70 in snow. Choose a rental car if you'll visit several resorts or towns, are traveling outside ski season, or a group's shuttle fares add up to more than an AWD rental.

Tips
- Book ahead for holiday weeks; shared shuttles do sell out.
- Leave buffer time for flight delays and ask how the operator handles them.
- Weekend westbound traffic on Saturday mornings and eastbound on Sunday afternoons can add hours.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get from Denver airport to Breckenridge without a car?
Book a shared shuttle or private transfer from DEN, or take a bus such as CDOT's Bustang via Denver. The drive is about 2 hours without traffic.
Is a shuttle cheaper than a rental car for a ski trip?
For one or two people staying in one town, usually yes once you add parking and fees. For larger groups or multi-town trips, an AWD rental can be cheaper.
Do ski shuttles run in snowstorms?
Shuttle operators generally keep running when I-70 is open, but closures and chain-law restrictions can cause delays. Check with your operator.
